I am so proud of our military and what they are enduring. Last night on the news there was a protest at our port. Protesters did not want our port to be used for transporting military materials. They would prefer it to be elsewhere. I wanted to jump in the guys face and say, "Okay, when our country gets attacked and the Military are here to protect us how about if they ignore your port from protection and go elsewhere." It makes me so mad for people to attack our Military ever! No body wants war! But we have a history of brave men and women who are willing to stand up and protect us. When someone disses the Military I wish they would move to a country like France who isn't willing to fight!
I feel a little better. I am always melancholy on Veterans Day. I think of my Dad and Uncle Jack serving in WWII and Robert in Viet Nam. I know that our cousin Steve's got 2 boys in the Military now and another joining soon. I know that all of them joined willingly. Actually I am not sure if Dad joined or was drafted. When I drive around our neighborhood I see signs saying "God Bless our Troops" or the American Flagged displayed respectfully and it makes me very proud.
I guess that's all I wanted to say for now.

Right-on Mary! There have been so many men and women die from their service to us. I feel indebted to each of them. The ones serving now are just as important. I know my nephew, Ken, hasn't been home for very long and I admire him so for the sacrafice her mad.
I agree, you don't need to support the war but we always need to support the troups! I love the passion!
Ditto! Thank you for the nice tribute to our veterans and those serving us today. My sister-in-law is one of them. She is serving in the National Guard, and she is headed to Wisconsin this week for mock "war games" and training. All I know is I am glad that she and others will do this, because I couldn't.
P.S. Thanks for changing your guess to the 12th, but I think the 19th may have been more accurate!
